The launch ceremony of the 2022 training session on smartphone usage for farmers across China 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China (MARA) launches a week-long training session for farmers across China on how to use smartphones in Beijing on 21 June.

With the theme of “improving farmers' digital skills, contributing to rural e-commerce development,” the training, the seventh of its kind, covers topics like information services for rural communities, internet marketing for agricultural products, use of agricultural technologies, and prevention of telecommunications fraud.

The 2022 training session consists of online and offline activities across China, of which the launch activity lasts from 21 to 27 June, but local agricultural bodies will host relevant activities all year round.

According to Hu Yongwan, executive vice-principal and deputy party secretary of Central Agricultural Broadcasting and Television School of China, the school plans to train more than 500,000 farmers this year through various programs.

Since it was launched first time in 2016, the training project has reached more than 140 million audiences during the past years.
